Victor Valdes Becomes Barcelona Coach



Spanish champions Barcelona have announced the appointment of their legend Victor Valdes as the new coach of the Under 19 A team.

The 37-year-old legendary goalkeeper however made a return to Barcelona after leaving Nou Camp five years ago due to injury.

Valdes has completed all of his relevant youth coaching qualification, and had been working as a coach at ED Moratalaz in the fifth tier of Spanish football following his retirement as a footballer.

Victor Valdes won six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies in a 12-year career at the Camp Nou between 2002 and 2014.

And after leaving Spain, the goalkeeper played for Premier League side Manchester United, Standard Liege and Middlesbrough.

Barcelona however confirmed the appointment of Victor Valdes on their official website with the team urging him to make the club proud. Valdes made 539 competitive appearances for Barcelona before he left the Spanish giants.
