The drama “Synonyms” by Israeli director Nadav Lapid has won the Golden Bear at the 69th Berlin Film Festival. The awards for best actor and best actress went to Wang Jingchun and Yong Mei for their performances in “So Long, My Son” by Chinese director Wang Xiaoshuai.

“I really appreciated that, I assume she knew that my mother’s opinions were opposed to hers,” Lapid said on Sunday. But he didn’t spare criticism of Regev’s actions as culture minister. “There’s a lot of missed opportunity during her tenure. I’ll be very happy if she watches the film from beginning to end and gives her opinion. It’s no less interesting to show the films to people with opinions that differ from mine. I’m not afraid of a public uproar and I’m not interested in it.”

I Was at Home, But is a 2019 German drama film directed by Angela Schanelec. It was selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.

Waar correspondent in Berlin reported that the film festival ends today with the distribution of a number of prizes.
