Kremlin: Putin to hold phone call with Macron on August 10

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold international phone calls on Friday, including with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, and also hold working meetings, particularly with the permanent members of the National Security Council, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

According to him, the president is working in Moscow on Friday. “He is scheduled to hold several international telephone conversations. I confirm the statement the Elysee Palace issued yesterday, as there indeed will be a conversation with Macron,” Peskov said, adding that information about one more telephone call would be provided later.

Besides, the Kremlin spokesman said that the Russian president would also hold a number of meetings, including with the permanent members of the country’s Security Council.

Reuters reported on Thursday, citing a source in the French presidential administration, that Macron planned to hold a telephone call with Putin on Friday to discuss the case of Oleg Sentsov, a Ukrainian filmmaker convicted of terrorism charges in Russia.
