Liverpool in Premier League, Barcelona in La Liga, Juventus in Serie A, Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Ligue 1 top their leagues following the latest games in top five European football leagues over the weekend.
In the English ‘Premier League’, the reigning champion Manchester City did not play a match due to Carabao Cup final while Liverpool drew Manchester United 0-0 and regained the top spot in the Premier League with 66 points while the runner-up Manchester City had 65 points.
In the Spanish football league ‘La Liga’, Barcelona beat Sevilla 4-2 with a hat-trick by Lionel Messi and stayed stronger at the top of the league with 57 points.
Atletico Madrid defeated Villarreal 2-0 while Real Madrid beat Levante 2-1.
The leader Barcelona are followed by Atletico Madrid with 50 points, trailed by Real Madrid with 48 points.
In Italy’s Serie A, leader Juventus are at the top of the league with 69 points after beating Bologna 1-0 to win 22 out of 25 matches.
Runner-up Napoli beat Parma 4-0 to reach 56 points while Inter drew Fiorentina 3-3.
In Germany’s Bundesliga, the leader Borussia Dortmund defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 while reigning champions Bayern Munich defeated Hertha Berlin 1-0.
Bayern Munich are now three points away from the top of the league.
In France’s Ligue 1, the leader PSG beat Nimes 3-0 while the runner-up Lille drew Strasbourg 1-1 and Olympique Lyon was defeated by Monaco 2-0.
PSG are very strong at the top of the league with 68 points, followed by Lille with 51 points and Olympique Lyon with 46 points.
