BMW to recall over 300,000 cars in Europe

German carmaker BMW is set to recall around 324,000 diesel cars in Europe, due to a technical issue which resulted in engine fires, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reported on Tuesday.

Yesterday, BMW’s quality chief Johann Ebenbichler held an “urgent” press conference in Seoul to explain the engine fires, stating the automaker would withdraw 106,317 vehicles from the market for emergency checks, starting August 20.
BMW shares ended the trading session in Europe on Tuesday 0.65% in the green.
