Barzani urges KDP candidates to avoid promises that they might not be able to achieve

WAAR-DUHOK:

The Kurdish prominent leader and former president of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani reiterated again that the future Iraqi government should be based on a true partnership, consensus, and balance in power to ensure the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people.

Barzani, who is also the president of the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), made the remarks during a meeting with his party’s leading members and cadres held on Saturday for talks on a variety of political issues across Iraq as the region is approaching the parliamentary election set for September 30, according to a statement by the KDP Press Office.

Concerning the regional vote, Barzani urged his party’s candidates to avoid using any languages that might hurt other sides, as well as making promises that they might not be able to keep it.
